Blacklisting allows you to remove a domain from one or more projects, typically when a link has already been built there, or at your discretion. This helps you streamline your workflow, avoid duplication, and manage risk.
We built this feature in the app in two ways to give you control over your link-building strategy:
Single Domain Blacklisting - remove one domain from your project/s
Bulk Blacklisting - remove multiple domains from your project/s
And both ways can be done with these blacklisting options:
Project blacklist - removes a publisher from a specific project only
Global blacklist - removes a publisher from all of your projects
Now I'll take you through the above options step-by-step!
Let's get started π
How to blacklist publishers?
From your Dashboard, click the cog icon, select Settings, go to the Blacklist Manager tab, then click the Add button.
Single Domain Blacklisting
A pop-up will appear, and if you're only blacklisting one publisher, select the Single Domain option.
βFill out the necessary fields according to your preference:
Company - the company name that holds the project/s you want a publisher to be blacklisted from
Project - the project/s where you don't want the publisher to appear as an option*
β*For Project Blacklisting - select the specific project
For Global Blacklisting - select all
βDomain - the domain you wish to blacklist
β
Click Save Blacklist when the details are finalised, and the domain will be listed in your Blacklist Manager immediately **
β**Before saving your work, you can tick Remember my choice to use the same preferences for your next blacklist action. If the domain doesn't appear on your screen, simply refresh the page.
Bulk Blacklisting
This can be done by uploading a file you already have on hand or by manually listing the domains. Either way is easy. π
Instead of selecting Single Domain from the pop-up, choose Bulk Upload File or Bulk Upload Text
βSelect the Company and Project of your preference as previously described.
β
βBulk Upload FileFile Type - Make sure to select the correct type of file you're uploading
βChoose File - Click the Browse button to access the files on your device and select the CSV/Excel document that lists the domains to blacklist.
β
Bulk Upload Text
Review your entries and hit the Save Blacklist button.
How to modify the publishers in your blacklist?
Made a mistake with the domain name, want to delist a publisher, or simply want to update your blacklist? No worries! You can easily make changes in the Blacklist Manager.
Editing your list
From your blacklist history, select the pen icon beside the domain you want to edit. A pop-up will appear similar to when you're adding one, and here's where you can edit the details. Once done, select Update Register, and your record will be updated:
β
Deleting a publisher from your blacklist
Instead of the pencil icon, select the trash bin icon beside it to delete, and a pop-up message will appear to confirm your action. Click the Yes, delete it! button to remove the domain from the list.
Please Note
When you globally blacklist a publisher, it would still be an available option for those projects where it was previously suggested. Don't worry, you can still remove it from those projects through Publisher Rejection.
What's next?
Now that you've done blacklisting, next is keeping your project profile updated for a much easier review of the publishers we add to your suggestions! π
