There are 2 different ways in which domains can be blacklisted within the app!

  1. Global blacklist - This option globally removes a suggested publisher from all of your projects.

  2. Project/Global blacklist - Here you can choose to blacklist a single domain or carry out a bulk upload either globally or for a specific project only.

Now I'll take you through the above 2 blacklist options step-by-step!

Let's get started 😊

How to Blacklist?

Navigate to your dashboard

Once you've logged in, select the project you wish to blacklist publishers.

1. Global blacklist

If you would like to blacklist a publisher which has been added to the Suggested Publishers across all of your projects, you can do this by selecting the Global Blacklist option in the Reject Suggestion column:

Global blacklist confirmation

A pop-up will also appear to notify you that choosing this option will result in the publisher being blacklisted across all of your projects! If you're happy to proceed, select "Yes"! 😊

You'll then receive a Successful blacklist notification on-screen.

2. Project/Global blacklist

If there's a domain or a list of them that you wish to blacklist on a particular project, you can go to Backlink Profile and just click on Add button:

Add new blacklist

Now you can select Create Blacklist. A pop-up will then appear, allowing you to choose either a single domain or a bulk upload. Once you've selected a domain for a single domain entry or upload file for a bulk upload, you'll then receive a successful blacklist notification on screen!

Also remember that only root domains can be used, whether you're blacklisting a single domain or carrying out a bulk upload.

When you upload a file for bulk upload, please make sure one column is used with only root domains listed, as no other information is needed.

Additionally, you can do a Global Blacklist, which will affect all projects!

Blacklist Manager

From any page in the app, you can click the cog on the upper right-hand corner and select Settings:

Once there, go to Blacklist Manager from the options at the top of your screen. You should now be able to do a Blacklist, following the same steps above:

Blacklist history record

Here you're able to review the history of each entry, with information such as the project name, the blacklisted domain and also the date it was actioned.

Editing blacklisted publisher

If you need to edit a domain entered due to a misspelling, for example, you can do this by selecting the pencil icon to make any corrections.

Once selected, a pop-up will appear where you can edit the domain name. Once done, select Update Register and that record will be updated:

Deleting blacklisted publisher

In case there's a publisher that you'd still like to work with in your other projects, you'll also have access to delete a single blacklist record πŸ‘

What's next?

Now that you've done blacklisting, next is keeping your project profile updated for a much easier review of the publishers we add to your suggestions! 😊
